Just Some Random Things

Okay, I finally found some things to post (just for the fun of it). So first of all I'm going to start out with this rhyme that I found in one of the books I own called Catopia by Anne Mortimer (which by the way, is one of my favorite books that I happen to love).

Cat Kisses
-------------
Sandpaper kisses
On a cheek or a chin-
That is the way
For a day to begin!
Sandpaper kisses
A cuddle and a purr,
I have an alarm clock
That's covered in fur!
--------------------------

And second of all, thought I'd post this. I think it's kind of funny because my cats' do it all the time.

A cat isn't fussy-just so long as you remember he likes his milk in the shallow, rose-patterned saucer and his fish on the blue plate. From which he will take it, and eat it off the floor.
-Arthur Bridges

And now, I'll just post some cat pictures.

This one's for you Mom! I know how much you love the hairless cats and the flat faced Persians (not)!

And these, these I just posted because I felt like it, and because I thought they were kind of funny.

Kitty Karate!
A cat chasing a deer? Interesting.

And look at this, an actual car. Hmmm... it's a cat and it's pink. I wouldn't mind owning that. :)
Anyway, hope you enjoyed the pictures! 'Til later!!
There has never been a skeleton of a cat found in a tree; therefor they must come down on their own.

Norwegian Forest Cat

Okay, I thought that since I am a cat fanatic, that once in a while I'd do a post on a certain cat breed, facts about it, etc. First of all, I'd like to thank my wonderful mother for giving me this idea. :) Now, let's begin.

Norwegian Forest Cat

I chose to begin with this breed because it's one of my most favorite ones.

Here are the colors and patterns for Norwegian Forest Cats.
If they are a solid color, then they'd be white, black, blue, red, or cream colored. If they aren't just one color, they can be a mixture of any. Example above.
Their coat is generally a thick double coat with a woolly undercoat and sometimes they have what looks like a lions mane, below.

Their eyes are large and round and can be all colors.
And their temperament is alert and active. They love people, but they also like freedom. So it's not a good idea to always keep them confined indoors.

Male Norwegian Forest cat's usually weigh 6 to 10 kg (13 to 22 lb), as females generally weigh half that size. And their hind legs are longer than their front legs.
They were first introduced in Australia in the late 1990's,
first introduced in Japan in the early 1990's,
first introduced in the United Kingdom in 1986,
first recognized in South Africa in 1994,
and first introduced in the United States in 1979.
Their alternative names are Skaukatt or Norsk Skogkatt. Hmmm...... interesting. :P
Their origin is Norway.
And their common 'nickname' is Weggie. (Pronounced wee-gy, if I'm correct. And believe me, I may not be, LOL.)
They are also rumored to be the early ancestors of the Maine Coon and the Long-haired Manx (more on those breeds later).
Well, I suppose this is the end of this post. This is pretty much all I can find on these cats, but if you look on my 'cat links' there are sure to be more on this breed.

BREAST CANCER AWARENESS

I am placing a button on my side bar that is important. The only thing it requires is a couple of clicks. Try to do this as often as you can.Your click on the "Click Here to Give - it's FREE" button helps fund free mammograms for women in need — low-income, inner-city and minority women whose awareness of breast cancer and opportunity for help is often limited. Your click is paid for by site sponsors, and mammogram funding is provided to clinics throughout the U.S. through the efforts of the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Thank You!!
